The hollow ring is the cavity that appears under the eye. It will highlight the orbital rim. One can see through the skin the bony reliefs, which gives this impression of "skeletonization" of the eyes.

Hollow circles can be hereditary but they are most often caused by the progressive reduction of subcutaneous fat between the skin and the bone. In young people, the hollow ring is isolated. From the age of forty, the loss of volume extends inwards towards the root of the nose and outwards towards the cheekbone. In this case, hyaluronic acid is injected into the dark circles and the tear trough area.

The session will last barely ten minutes. The injections are generally not very painful because the hyaluronic acid contains lidocaine (a local anaesthetic). If a person is very sensitive, the doctor will apply an anaesthetic cream beforehand.

The doctor will remove the make-up and disinfect the eyelids.

He injects deep between the bone and the skin by means of micro-cannulas with rounded tips. The product is diffused under the skin in a very gradual way all along the lower eyelid, which reduces pain and the risk of haematomas.

The doctor must correct the hollow without creating a pocket under the eye due to overfilling. He will therefore inject sparingly, even if it means touching up during the control visit, one month after the session.

The results are visible immediately and for 12 months. The results will hydrate the dermis in depth, reduce the transparency of the skin and the coloured dark circles.
